Note the start of the Islamic month's date in this calendar is tenative and will be finalized after moonsighting and announced on our website Inshallah.

Alhumdulillah Ramadan Kareem started Thursday Aug 12th (1st Ramadhan). 

Inshallah Lailatul-Qadr (Shab-e-Qadr) will be on the night of Monday Sept 6th (27th of Ramadhan) and Inshallah we will finish the Taraweeh recitation of the Quran.  The masjid will be open all night for Ibadath.

We will be crescent watching on Thursday, September 9, 2010 (Ramadan 29, 1431) to determine the start of Shawwal 1, 143. Eid-ul-Fitr will be on either Friday, September 10, 2010 or Saturday, September 11, 2010.

Annual Zakat on your wealth

While Sadaqa-ul-Ftir/Zakat-ul-Fitr is a fixed amount per person, the Annual Zakat is based on 2.5% of your wealth and is one of the 5 pillars of Islam.  Zakat can be paid any time of the year and is the practice of some to pay in Ramadhan to take advantage of the multitude of bounties in this blessed month.

Update:  The proceeds of the Eid Celebration will be donated to the Pakistan Flood Relief

The Annual Eid-ul-Fitr Celebration will be held the Sunday after Eid on September 12, 2010 from 11am - 6pm.  There will be rides, foods, shopping, henna tattos, ballon sculpting, and fun for all.

You can participate in this noble cause in several ways as donations for the construction of the New Cary Masjid can be sent a variety of ways: Cash, Check, Credit Card, Paypal, via mail to our PO Box, electronic transfer, or automatic withdrawls.

Status August 2010 - Construction will Resume!

Alhumdulillah!  After weeks of no progress due to lack of funds, with Allah's blessings and your donations and support and turnout at the Fundraising Dinner, we plan on resuming construction the last week of August!

Though we have enough funds and committment to start, we are still $150,000 short to fully complete this next phase of putting the Steel up and sincerely do need your support for this.  Even if 100 people sign up for $100/month we will be able to meet this goal.  Please contact the masjid for details.
